MSP California Homebuilding Foundation Scholarship

2024-2025 Academic Year Award

The California Homebuilding Foundation (CHF) is the research and education center for California’s homebuilding and construction industries. Founded in 1978 through the California Building Industry Association (CBIA), the Foundation serves the homebuilding industry by providing scholarships, research, educational and professional development programs. The Foundation’s mission is to give aid to worthy ambitious students with a desire to pursue a career in the building and construction industry.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Open to continuing undergraduate and graduate CSUN students who plan to pursue a career in the building and construction industry.
  • Applicants must be part-time or full-time students enrolled in 6+ units during the Fall & Spring terms of the award year.
    *Any change to your enrollment status resulting in less than full time enrollment for any term within the award year will result in a cancellation of your award.
  • Undergraduate GPA must be greater than or equal to 2.5
  • Graduate GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0
  • Must have a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) on file for the upcoming academic year.
    *Additional documents will be required by the California Homebuilding Foundation if selected as a finalist for this award.

If you receive Financial Aid (including loans), your financial aid award(s) may be adjusted if you receive a scholarship amount that exceeds your financial aid total limit. Speak to a financial aid counselor during walk-in hours to get a detailed overview of your individual situation.

  4. Student Scholarship Request Letter (no less than 200-word count). The letter should describe how receiving this scholarship will help you meet your educational goals. The letter should be written in business letter format and addressed to: California Homebuilding Foundation.
