Shirley V. Svorny Economics Scholarship

2026–2027 Academic Year Award

The Shirley V. Svorny Scholarship provides a $1,000 award to one student enrolled as an Economics major in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be declared as an Economics major.
• Must have junior or senior standing during the 2026–2027 academic year.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in upper-division Economics courses.
• Must have a minimum overall CSUN cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Must have completed ECON 310 with a grade of B or higher.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 units during the award term.
• Graduating seniors who will not be enrolled during the 2026–2027 academic year are not eligible.

Notification and Award Event

Award recipients will be notified via CSUN email in mid-April 2026. The recipient will be recognized at the Nazarian College Scholarship Dinner on April 30, 2026.
