Matt Winn EHSS Memorial Scholarship

Matt Winn was a CSUN Environmental and Occupational Health graduate from the class of 1995.
He worked for a variety of clients, providing Industrial Hygiene expertise across a wide range of
industries, ultimately taking a job working for the Amgen Environment Health Safety Sustainability
Department. In his career he solved problems, protected workers and helped make many
workplaces safe and healthy.
Matt was a lover of life. He played violin, he coached his son’s baseball team, he loved spending
time outdoors. He spent many a weekend camping with his family, entertaining them around the
fire, singing and playing guitar.
Matt was a loving husband and father, leaving behind a wife and two sons. He was a kind man
who always had a funny story to tell and never a bad word for anyone. He passed away suddenly
in the spring of 2020 leaving us all a little smaller and a little sadder in his absence. Amgen
dedicates this scholarship in his remembrance knowing that he would happy to help students
seeking to educate themselves and improve the world we’re all passing through.

Student must be enrolled in 9+ units required for
the BS EOH degree. This requirement is for the application term and each award term.
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. This requirement is for the application term and each award term.
Must be a Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior.
Must be in the BS Environmental and Occupational Health (including IH option)/CHHD program.
