Spring 2026 Award

The Young Scholarship was made possible through a generous contribution from the trust of Laurence and Ethel Young in honor of Dr. Laurence Young, a former faculty member in Kinesiology who taught Physical Education at CSUN until his retirement.

This scholarship provides financial support to students in Kinesiology who demonstrate outstanding potential as they progress through their academic studies. One award in the amount of $2,000 will be granted.

Laurence and Ethel Young were longtime contributors to California State University, Northridge’s Center of Achievement. This gift expands their legacy of giving to the University and reflects their strong interest in the fields of Kinesiology and Physical Education.

Eligibility Criteria

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in Kinesiology.
• Graduation (or anticipated graduation) in Fall 2025, Spring/Summer 2026, or Fall 2026.
• Aspiration to pursue a career in Kinesiology.
