The Armenian Alumni Network Scholarship

2025-2026 Academic Year Award

The scholarship will defer the cost of tuition, fees, books, and eligible room and board (room and board eligibility to be determined by the University) up to a maximum of $1,000 per year per student. Students may apply for the Scholarship in subsequent years as long as they meet the criteria and funding is still available. Continuing undergraduate (Incoming Freshmen are NOT eligible), graduate, and credential students may apply. Graduating seniors are not eligible (except those who will graduate Spring Semester).

Scholarships will be awarded to students who best meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Is a descendant of an individual who either survived or were killed in the Armenian Genocide of 1914 – 1924, and/or
  • Can demonstrate a commitment to the support of and advocacy for the CSUN Armenian student community through the student-led organizations serving CSUN’s Armenian students and the general campus community.

Students are required to submit an essay of up to three pages in length that addresses their experience relevant to the above-listed criteria.

Two letters of references that verify students’ experience in the above-listed criteria are also required (either two from professors or one from a professor and the second from an officer of the CSUN Armenian student organization in which they, the applicant, is involved.)

This scholarship is for students who are

  • CSUN students who have demonstrated financial need and
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
  • Are descendants of persons who either survived or were killed in the Armenian Genocide of 1914 – 1924, and/or
  • Can demonstrate a commitment to the support of and advocacy for the Armenian community through humanitarian, cultural, philanthropic, or athletic programs and/or other endeavors.
  • Students are required to submit an essay of up to three pages in length that addresses their experience relevant to the above-listed criteria. To two letters of reference that verify students’ experience in the above-listed criteria are also required.
*Chapter Scholarships can ONLY be awarded to current/returning CSUN students. Students who are graduating and DO NOT plan on returning in an academic capacity in the term the funds are received are NOT ELIGIBLE to receive a scholarship.

Please note: If you receive Financial Aid (including loans), your financial aid award(s) may be adjusted if you receive a scholarship amount that exceeds your financial aid total limit. Speak to a financial aid counselor during walk-in hours to get a detailed overview of your individual situation.

    • A letter of recommendation from a professor.(This letter must present clear examples of the student's academic pursuits, intellectual curiosity, planning for an academic career, developing a work ethic, understanding of the world, and cultivating passion for their chosen field or public service.
    • A letter of recommendation from an organization or institution representative in a leadership position. (This letter must verify your involvement in an Armenian community-focused organization or institution, and leadership and critical thinking skills.)
