Biology Outstanding Student Award

Spring 2025: 2024-2025 Academic Year Award

This award is offered by the Department of Biology with the support of multiple anonymous donors to recognize outstanding undergraduate or graduate students majoring/MS candidates in Biology.

Eligibility:

• Applicant MUST be enrolled as an Undergraduate Majoring in the Biology Department OR Graduate Student in the MS Biology Program.
• Applicant MUST have a GPA greater than or equal to 3.5
• Must have a FAFSA Application on file for the current academic year.
• Must request 2 letters of recommendation via the myMatador Scholarships portal. (At least one of which should be from a CSUN Faculty/Staff)
• Must upload: a current student resume/CV detailing ongoing and past research projects, any grants/awards/presentations/publications, work history, etc.
• Must upload: An Unofficial Transcript
• Applicant MUST be enrolled Full-Time during the academic year awarded ( Undergraduate =12 units, Graduate = 8 units)

If selected as the scholarship recipient, I agree to write a thank-you letter to the donor(s) and be willing to meet with the donor(s) or designee(s). Both will be coordinated by the College’s Director of Development.

Any change to your enrollment status resulting in less than required enrollment for any term within the award year will result in a cancellation of your award.
