Associated Students David Harry Crandall Scholarship

2024-2025 Academic Year Award

The Associated Students is the primary advocate for students at California State University, Northridge and provides excellent, meaningful programs and services designed to create and enhance a spirited, learning-focused campus environment. In an effort to support students in financing their education, the Associated Students have created this General Student Body Scholarship.

David Harry Crandall was the Executive Director of the Associated Students at CSU Northridge for 19 years. David has consistently, throughout his career demonstrated a deep commitment to the development of college students, especially through the leadership opportunities afforded by Associated Students. David served as a counselor, advisor, manager, leader, friend and mentor to hundreds of Associated Students student employees and leaders.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Involved in on-campus leadership activities OR;
  • I am or will be a student employee with the Associated Students during the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Open to continuing CSUN undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Undergraduate students must have a GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Graduate students must have a GPA of at least 3.5.
  • Must have a FAFSA or CADAA (California Dream Act Application) on file for the upcoming academic year.
  • Undergraduate students must enroll in 12 units* or more during the Fall & Spring terms of the award year.
  • Graduate students must enroll in a minimum of 6 units* (8 units preferred) or more during the Fall & Spring terms of the award year.
    * Any change to your enrollment status resulting in less than full time enrollment for any term within the award year will result in a cancellation of your award.
  • One letter of recommendation must be requested through the my Matador Scholarship system.
  • Must upload a copy of your student resume. A student resume is a detailed record of your personal and educational information. It includes the name of your school/college, coursework, projects (if any) undertaken, and awards. The resume may also contain additional information like your extracurricular activities, volunteer experiences, job experiences (if any), hobbies, etc.
  • A reception will be held in your honor by Associated Students within the beginning of the Fall semester. Scholarship recipient will be sent an invitation in early Fall.

  • If you are receiving Financial Aid (including loans), your financial aid award(s) may be adjusted if you receive a scholarship amount that exceeds your financial aid total limit. Speak to a financial aid counselor during walk-in hours to get a detailed overview about your individual situation.
