MSP Robert B. and Linda S. Axel Scholarship Endowment

2024-2025 Academic Year Award

Robert (College of Business and Economics ’64) and Linda (College of Education ’65) met while attending California State University, Northridge. As CSUN represents much in their personal history, they are creating a scholarship endowment. Bob spent 37 years as a Superior Court Judge for Los Angeles Superior Court. Linda taught and ultimately ended up being introduced to the industry. They have two children and five grandchildren. They are still close with friends from their CSUN days. Through the Robert B. and Linda S. Scholarship Endowment, Robert and Linda, wish to provide scholarships to CSUN students.

This scholarship is open to students who demonstrate financial need, determined by your submitted FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).

The Robert B. and Linda S. Axel Scholarship Endowment will award the following scholarships:
One scholarship will be awarded to a student in the Michael D. Eisner College of Education.
One scholarship will be awarded to a student in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Open to continuing CSUN undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Undergraduate students must have a GPA of at least a 3.0.
  • Graduate students must have a GPA of at least a 3.5.
  • Have a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) on file for the upcoming academic year.
  • Undergraduate students must enroll in 12 units or more during the Fall & Spring terms of the award year.
    Any change to your eligibility status in any term within the award year will result in a cancellation of your award.
  • Graduate students must enroll in a minimum of 6 units (8 units preferred) or more during the Fall & Spring terms of the award year.
    Any change to your eligibility status in any term within the award year will result in a cancellation of your award.
  • Must demonstrate involvement and leadership in off/on campus community service and/or extracurricular activities.
  • One letter of recommendation must be requested through the my Matador Scholarship system.
  • Must upload a copy of your student resume. A student resume is a detailed record of your personal and educational information. It includes the name of your school/college, coursework, projects (if any) undertaken, and awards. The resume may also contain additional information like your extracurricular activities, volunteer experiences, job experiences (if any), hobbies, etc.
    A letter of gratitude will be required from selected award recipients.

    If you are receiving Financial Aid (including loans), your financial aid award(s) may be adjusted if you receive a scholarship amount that exceeds your financial aid total limit. Speak to a financial aid counselor during walk-in hours to get a detailed overview about your individual situation.
