CSU Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students
The Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students was established in 1991 for legally blind San Francisco and San Jose State University students. The scholarship gave students the opportunity to receive a quality education and pursue a professional career in humanities arts sciences or business. Mr. Schoettler was a businessman from Mountain View, Calif. who was blind the last eight years of his life. This scholarship is reserved for students who have a visual disability.
The applicant must have a visual disability and provide verification from a medical health professional, which includes the best corrected visual acuity notations using the Confirmation of Visual Disability form. Confirmation of Visual Disability form can be found via the following link: https://www.csun.edu/sites/default/files/confirmation-of-visual-disability.pdf. The disability must be such that it impedes the educational process and necessitates accommodations, support services, or programs.
- Currently have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale and must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale during the academic year in which the award is received.
- Be currently enrolled in 6 units or more as a CSU undergraduate or graduate student in any major field and must remain enrolled in 6 units or more during the academic year in which the award is received.
- All students must submit a CSU Systemwide Scholarship Applicant Information Form via the my Matador Scholarships portal.
- Submit a Personal Statement.
