CREA Foundation is committed to improve the lives of youth and young adults facing financial barriers to success in the communities we serve by creating opportunities to further their learning, development and education. CREA Foundation believes all youth and young adults in our communities deserve an opportunity to further their learning, development and education. The state of our communities, aligned with CREA LLC’s mission that “opportunity begins with a safe place to call home,” resonates with their ability to create access for individuals residing in these communities. CREA Foundation aims to reduce the cycle of poverty through safe and affordable housing solutions, as well as an investment in education.

The CREA Scholars Program at CSUN will provide scholarships to incoming freshmen that qualify for either the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Resilient Scholars Program (RSP) and/or Trio Program at the University.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must currently live or have lived in affordable or public housing. Public Housing Definition
  • Be a Resident of California
  • Must have a FAFSA or California Dream Act application (CADAA) on file for the upcoming academic year.
  • Undergraduate students must enroll in 12 units or more during the Fall & Spring terms of the award year.
  • Admitted to CSUN as incoming freshman
  • Demonstrate financial need and Pell eligibility
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Be available for in-person/virtual interview with selection committee
  • Plan to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study (12+ units each term of the award year)
  • Admitted to either the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Resilient Scholars Program (RSP) and/or Trio Program at the University.

    Preference will be given to students
  • Pursing a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Business Law, Construction Management, Engineering and Computer Science, Information Technology, or related STEM major.
  • under-served backgrounds, especially those from its affordable housing communities.

Important Note:
If you are receiving Financial Aid (including loans), your financial aid award(s) may be adjusted if you receive a scholarship amount that exceeds your financial aid total limit. Speak to a financial aid counselor during walk-in hours to get a detailed overview about your individual situation.
