MSP CSUN Dreamers Scholarship


Spring 2024: Funds will be awarded for the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

At California State University, Northridge we are dedicated to helping students have equal access to higher education by providing resources. The CSUN Dreamers Scholarship offers financial support for undergraduate students not eligible for the full range of federal financial aid typically available to students.

First-time freshman undergraduate students entering their first semester are highly encouraged to apply!
This scholarship is open to CSUN undergraduate students who have an approved California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request (AB 540 Affidavit) on file with the University.

Award Amounts:

  • Scholarships of $2,500 for the academic year to students enrolled in 12 units or more. Eligible students may apply for this award up to four years.
  • Scholarships of $1,250 for the academic year to students enrolled in less than 12 units. Eligible students may apply for this award up to four years. Must be enrolled at least half-time.
  • Scholarships of $12,500 for the academic year for students residing in Student Housing. Full-time students may receive this award one time only.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Open to matriculated CSUN undergraduate students with an approved California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request (AB 540 Affidavit) on file with the University.

  • Student must have a completed Dream Act Application on file for the award year being applied for.

  • Undergraduate students must have a CSUN GPA of at least 2.5.
  • Continuing and New Spring Admits Undergraduate students must enroll in 6 units or more during the Fall & Spring terms of the award year.
    *Any change to your enrollment status resulting in less than half-time enrollment for any term within the award year will result in a cancellation of your award.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in at least 12 units or more per term to be considered for the full-time and Student Housing awards.
    *Any change to your enrollment status resulting in less than full time enrollment for any term within the award year will result in a cancellation of your award.

If you receive Financial Aid (including loans), your financial aid award(s) may be adjusted if you receive a scholarship amount that exceeds your financial aid total limit. Speak to a financial aid counselor during walk-in hours to get a detailed overview of your individual situation.
