College of HHD's United States Department of Education CAMINO Scholarship Award

(18-19 Academic Year Opportunity) The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to HHD students pursuing a graduate degree in the following programs under the College of Health and Human Development: Communication Disorders, Environmental and Occupational Health, Gerontology, Health Administration, Kinesiology, Lactation, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Public Health.(See below for details on selection criteria and requirements.) The goal of CAMINO is to provide HHD graduate students pathways to healthcare careers with particular attention to the needs of low-income and first-generation students. This scholarship is made possible by funding from
CAMINO: Charting Access for Hispanics Majoring In Needed Careers and Occupations in Healthcare a United States Department of Educations Promoting Post-Baccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA) Program. A total of 9 scholarships will be awarded meaning one graduate student in EACH of the following programs will receive a $1000 scholarship: Communication Disorders, Environmental and Occupational Health, Gerontology, Health Administration, Kinesiology, Lactation, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Public Health.

*Graduate students must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
*Must be pursuing one of the following graduate degrees: Communication Disorders, Environmental and Occupational Health, Gerontology, Health Administration, Kinesiology, Lactation, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Public Health.
*Priority will be given to low-income and/or first-generation graduate students with a commitment to research, scholarly activities, professional experience or growth potential, leadership, professionalism, maturity and outstanding clinical potential (If applicable).
*Awards will be presented to recipients in May 2019 prior to graduation.
